Haroshi X Nike Dunk
Modeled on an actual worn pair of Nike Dunks, these sneakers are actually sculptures. Haroshi has famously been making wooden art out of old skate decks for a few years now. The Nike connection goes deeper, as these were carved and shaped from the decks of the Nike SB skate team, skaters like P-Rod, Eric Koston, Lance Mountain, Cory Kennedy to name a few. The good news to appreciators, is that Nike ‘hope’ to put a real wearable version on the shelves possibly this year or in 2012 – flashes of the Nike Macaroon Pack here.
Price and pairs made will most likely be for the fortunate few.

As part of the natural buzz and conceptual encouragement around LA’s Museum of Contemporoary Art’s ‘Art In The Street’ street art showing, Nike jumped at the chance to collaborate with Geoff McFetridge who created these so rare it’s not worth trying Paper Dunks. Only 24 pairs have been made, which each have partially cup from original McFetridge illustrations – thusly made up of unfamiliar footwear materials. These über desirable collection pieces are only available by auction on the West Coast – with all proceeds going to the MOCA Foundation. This is all part of Nike’s marketing skate campaign featuring design work from Futura, Lace Mountain, Neckface and CR Stecyk III.
Thanks to Kenlu for the pics.

Having archived 1000s of hitops ourselves and then losing all the data, HitopHeaven are both pleased and miffed to announce the new SneakerPedia being launched by Foot Locker. The premise, like our very ow one, was very simple, if you own a shoe and collection – UPLOAD THEM AND SHOW OFF YOUR BEAUTIES.
Any progress in the sneaker community is good news to us at HTH, we will surely be participating!

This month the Supra Blog has shown what they are delivering in their next shipments to their stockists worldwide. These here are the instantly recognisably Eastern influenced “Rising Sun” Quick-Strike Pack. Supra say the design is a celebration of the influence that Japan has had on sneaker culture – these are in keeping with the original Supra Society model these are based on, with their double velcro straps and vulcanised sole.

Jeremy Scott X Adidas – Teddy Bear Pack
Built over the famous Adidas Originals Metro Attitude Hi model shape, Jeremy Scott keeps coming out with new creations with and for Adidas, this time in these uniquely original Teddy Bear Pack. Having come out with the ‘Pink Teddy Bear Ballers Pack’ recently, previewed by SNKRFRKR Mag, these are the range aimed at men – surprisingly. These come as part of the Jeremy Scott X Adidas ObyO range – and it is hard to know how many will be made and for what price. HitopHeaven’s opinion is that if they are considered for production, that they will be available in Japan, USA, UK & Germany in limited stock. If you like these look back in the HitopHeaven archive for the Mickey Mouse hitops which were released in Korea earlier this year.

Founded in August 2002 by San Francisco based Keith Hufnagel – HUF was originally a skate shop specialising in the rarer items. Since then Hufnagel has opened a new store a year, and 8 years on has crafted his own branded footwear. The HUF collection is by no means exclusively hitop, and already with a collaborative project with the Converse Skidgrip Hi (HUF X 1HUND(RED)) (see image). Whilst the brand grows pairs will become more readily available, HitopHeaven will give updates of availability when possible.
The HUF collection includes the Hupper Hi Star – a canvas skate model with a leather panelling and a tonal leather brand badge sewn onto the side. Also woven brand tab sewn onto the tongue and further branding on the heel. The Converse collaboration with the AIDS charity RED was designed by Keith Hufnagel and Hanni El Khatib, who stated: “We wanted to reference the skate and surf vibe of the 1980s and the Skidgrip was a great, authentic foundation.” Available from 3rd October with money to charity from each purchase.

Having recently released the SLVR Men’s collection, Adidas have gone all out on their women’s range. Some of the model’s are reminiscent of the concept shoes Adidas and other brands showcased at the Sport Vs Fashion exhibition at the V&A in London in early 2009. Very much aimed at the street fashion rather than athletic side of design and inspiration, with associated apparel and accessories to the range – all available from the SLVR website.

AirWalk Prototype 600F’s
Airwalk’s popularity in the late 90’s has very much been a distant memory, however their introduction of these Prototype 600 Farenheit’s are an addition to all the major brand’s 80s/90s throwback Basketball sneaker releases. Similar to Reebok Sir Jam’s and vintage Pony Hi’s, they look a great model to get Airwalks back on the streets. Retailing at around $85 in the States and probably the £85 & €85 in Europe and internationally where available, the more retro-fit colorways will run out fast – so visit the Airwalk website to grab yours and/or further info.

Y-3 Neo Tech
Available now direct from the Y-3 website are these Neo Tech hitops, a model inspired by both 90’s Basketball footgear of the past and futuristic materials that in some cases we’ve only seen in concept/prototype designs. At $370 a pair you would be joining a small fraternity of wearers, these hitops look great in the flesh in large and small sizes – and have familiar characteristics in acute areas like the toes and the soles reminiscent of Adidas Originals and Adicolor models since the millenium. These thankfully are unisex so available (currently) in sizes 5.5 – 12.5 US, and we hope for more of the same from Y-3!
