The premise, like our very ow one, was very simple, if you own a shoe and collection – UPLOAD THEM AND SHOW OFF YOUR BEAUTIES.
Any progress in the sneaker community is good news to us at HTH, we will surely be participating!
Available now direct from the Y-3 website are these Neo Tech hitops, a model inspired by both 90’s Basketball footgear of the past and futuristic materials that in some cases we’ve only seen in concept/prototype designs. At $370 a pair you would be joining a small fraternity of wearers, these hitops look great in the flesh in large and small sizes – and have familiar characteristics in acute areas like the toes and the soles reminiscent of Adidas Originals and Adicolor models since the millenium. These thankfully are unisex so available (currently) in sizes 5.5 – 12.5 US, and we hope for more of the same from Y-3!
Japanese designers Mastermind have collaborated with Adidas Originals, based on the Hardland model. Mastermind have taken this basketball era Adidas shape, and branded their signature skull logo. Earliest release June 16.

Air Jordon 25th Anniversary – 2010 Silver Anniversary Edition
Hot off the press from Nike are these 25th Silver Anniversary Jordans. Designers Hatfield & Smith designed Nike’s first ever transparent footwear, using thermoplastic urethane or TPU, a design feature requested by Michael Jordan himself. These aren’t just design orientated, in fact the fundamentals the design team worked on were for athletic performance, and Nike’s Zoom Air system is used in these Air Jordan 2010’s. The shoe’s construction is to mimic the wearers feet on the outside of the shoe. We particularly like the silver toes.
Kazuki X Adidas Originals – Gipfel Hitop 2010 range
Japanese designer Kazuki Kuraishi has put his eye into these two Adidas Originals Gipfel hitops colourways. With the familiar sole from the hard to find Adidas Torsions of january 2009. This collaboration goes hand in hand with the Kazuki designed apparel for Adidas Originals, and the whole range is currently available online at Size? UK – in stores and online.
Kazuki X Adidas Originals – Gipfel Hitop 2010 range
Even though these two colourways look simple at first, in true Japanese style Kazuki has brought a real attention to detail with this season’s collaboration, as you can see alone from the label on the tongue.
Kazuki X Adidas Originals – Gipfel Hitop 2010 range
This collaboration should be available from all good sneaker stockers internationally, but for now check out Size? UK for further pictures, or just to get your hands on them ASAP!
We are a generation brought up on promising, bright coloured advertising, and nowhere is this more apparent than footwear commercials of the 1980s and early 1990s. It had got to the point, when the Reebok Pump was elbowing its’ way to popularity against the Nike Air, that their campaigns would openly go against the rival brands product. This almost became the style of cool, brands advertisements going out there and saying their footwear is better. For this reason, Hitop Heaven has given the 1989 Reebok Pump commercial starring Dominique Wilkins the top spot – for its’ simple retro grace, and classic superstar endorsement.
At number 2, none only than MC Hammer doing his bit for British Knight’s footwear, another commercial trying to aim sneaker wearers away from the dominant force Nike.
The next two have made the shortlist, purely for their stupidness, let yous sneaker geek eyes feast on these next 2 retro commercial gems.
And finally, coming fifth in this current top five count down, is an all star show out for Converse Weapon, this campaign reaching our screens during the NBA’s 1986/1987 title.
If you have any suggestions for any sneaker ads that beat any of these into the Top 5 Retro Sneaker Ads, post them below in the comments!
Mint Condition 1988 Art of Puma’s at SheMonster Germany
The Shemonster Vintage Fashion mailing list is an old and dear friend to us at Hitop Heaven, and just take a look why… above you will see the best possible condition and quality of our all time favourite – the 80s icon Puma’s ‘Art of Puma’ – with original Art of Puma box which surprisingly is a very rare treat. These are in a size 12 UK / 13 US. Click on the Shemonster link on the right hand side of this page to join their mailing list and enquire about both price and availability.
Nike Air Transition’s 1989 – Size 10 UK / 11 US
These Nike Air Transitions from 1989 are also in fantastic condition, no original box, but if you like these I’m sure that the original shoe box would not have to be the deal breaker!
Puma XTG’s from 1988 – size 10 UK / 11 US
If the Art of Puma’s above are a little too loud for your liking, these Puma XTG’s from the very same year are in fantastic condition for such a rare sneaker. Usually Hitops of this age tend to flake at the tongue, just the old leather paint peeling after 20 years of life, but these look to have been kept in a time warp!
Shemonster has far more stock available, whether it be Hitops, Low’s, and clothing and accessories. We recommend signing up to the mailing list – as once a month or so instead of the usual Junk mail your inbox gets full of, you will find a treat for your feet!
If you missed out on the Valentine’s Day Pack of these Nike reprods of the 1981 classic Basketball shoe, also available at Size? online are these great Black and White colour scheme pairs. At £59.99 this is a good price for a hitop sneaker which will most definitely sell fast.
Yet another throwback from the mid-eighties, Reebok have relaunched many of their classic BB range (BB for Basketball no less), as all brands are now seemingly exclusively looking back whilst looking forward for what seems like 100% of sneakers that have been release so far in 2010. Honestly, Hitopheaven.com could not be happier, and many of the Reebok BB ranges have appeared on eBay UK at a better price than at retailers.
These 6600 Hi’s above are available in size 8 UK / 9 US for less than £60:
As well as the BB6600’s release in the mid-eighties, Reebok released the BB 4600’s, which were as a matter of fact the chord that struck for Reebok, as the BB6600’s had originally been a bit of a marketing flop. The 4600 Hi’s however were Reebok’s saving grace at the time, and if it were not for the success of the 4600, we may well not have seen the iconic Reebok Pump’s birth a few years later. Aethetically, the 6600 Hi’s and 4600 Hi’s Reebok label is woven into the shoe, a design feature which has been lost for many years.
These green and blue pairs are available respectively on eBay UK in 8UK/ 9US at £55:
James Worthy playing for the LA Lakers in 790 Hi Ball’s
James Worthy fans, Lakers fans, New Balance fans and hitop fans alike, these New Balance 790 Hi Ball’s have just landed at UK retailer Size? and are available internationally. These are hot off the press and going to sold fast so act now! The 790 was one of the only shoes besides Nike and Reebok to stand out in the 1980s Basketball scene, and were slightly taller in their hitop model build than the Reebok Pump and Nike B-Ball models. This taller model size is for further ankle support.
New Balance 790 Hi Ball
New Balance have relaunched the 790 Hi Ball having seen the success if the Nike Dunk Hi and the Reebok Pump in recent years, and will be around the same price as them too wherever sold. Available at Size? Online now for £69.99 in all sizes:
If you are a size 6.5UK / 7.5 US these are going extremely cheap! These usually retail close to the £90-100 mark in the UK and $100-120 in the US, and at the moment they are a fraction of that price. These Maui editions of the Puma First Round have hibiscus flower details and are a leather and suede finish. Puma, like Nike, Adidas and all the like, have brought back a classic shoe from the late 80s in the first round, and there are many editions for men and women – check out this seasons range directly (like the Silver and Red First Round Soda’s) at www.puma.com. The First Round was the first high cut version of the Puma Basket.
Check out the listing going begging on eBay USA (going so cheap do not be put off internationally!):
